James Cheney is the West Coast A&R for Songs Music Publishing in Los Angeles. At Songs Music Publishing, James works with a talented roster of songwriters, producers and artists such as JD Walker, Brian Lee, Jess Jackson Q-Tip & Dev.  In 2011 James signed the hot producer DJ Mustard to a co-publishing deal with the top 10 single “Rack City.”  James began his 9 year career at Universal Music Publishing.  As Director of A&R, he cultivated writers, producers and artists such as Asher Roth, Rob Holladay and Greg Curtis. Greg was was named SESAC Songwriter of the Year in 2009 as  co-writer and producer of Keyshia Cole\'s #1 hit  - \'I Remember.” Most recently James signed Keith Harris who co-wrote and produced the Billboard #1 single \'Imma Be\' for the Black Eyed Peas.
