 Composer, producer and ASCAP Board Member Doug Wood has written and produced music for hundreds of television programs and commercials, including Saturday Night Live, Dateline NBC, and Conan O’Brien; promos for ABC, CBS, ESPN and NBC; and national spots for Coca Cola, Volkswagen, Verizon and scores of others. A classically-trained pianist and oboist, and composition major at Manhattan School of Music (as well as rock guitarist and band leader), Wood is the founder and CEO of the Omnimusic Libraries. On the ASCAP Board he is writer Chairman of the Operations and Administration Committee and serves on the Finance and Legal Strategy Committees. Wood has spent countless hours helping ASCAP members resolve their issues with the organization. As a result of his successful protest in 1991, ASCAP implemented the Special Library Survey, which has distributed millions of dollars in royalties to non-feature writers and publishers.
